Can I convert the HEIC photos from my iPhone?
Yes, and it is what most people come here for. HEIC is the format an iPhone saves by default, and plenty of Windows machines, web forms and older editors refuse to open it. Converting to JPEG or PNG gives you a file anything will read.
Which formats can I convert to?
JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF. Reading is wider than writing: HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, GIF and BMP can come in, but they are not offered as output. RAW camera files such as CR2, NEF and ARW are not supported at all.
Does converting lose quality?
It depends where you land. PNG is lossless, so nothing is discarded. JPEG, WebP and AVIF are lossy, and every re-encode throws a little more away — so convert once from the original rather than through a chain of intermediate files.
Can I convert a whole folder at once?
Yes. Drop a folder in and every image inside it is converted, with the results handed back as one zip. A dropped folder is walked up to 5,000 files and 2,000 folders, and the page says so when it stops at either; choosing a folder with the button has no such cap. Either way the ceiling is your device’s memory, because every file in a batch is held there for the whole run.
